The European - Melbourne

Long work week in Melbourne, mostly meetings in dark conference rooms all day and multiple good meals in the evening. Not much sleep, but to much good food to miss a dinner opportunity. This town does have serious food options, designer cocktails, regional/slow food, and outrageously beautiful produce.

My work mates have jumped onto airplanes and are now headed back to the states, I was half volunteered to stay and work a few lingering issues.   It is a cool, sunny, Friday afternoon; I am now sitting in an Italian bistro across from the state Parliament, sipping on a glass of wine waiting for my mushroom risotto.

Just watching people roll by, I could do this forever, it is endlessly fascinating the blend of human experience surrounding me in this little Parisian feeling cafe; Work group intent on expressing a point, lawyers most likely, mom and her daughter reconnecting at the table next to me, a wedding party strolling by formally dressed, all giddy with anticipation of the festivities, me more appreciative of my work travel benefit than I have been in a long while. This little cafe delivers on the atmosphere as one of half a dozen small interesting restaurants on the block.

All have created a scene that is perfect for an afternoon/evening of people gazing. With a small menu that changes daily based on availability and seasonal ingredients, I enjoyed several small plates, and actually went back a second time over my 2 week stay....

Test #2

Test #2

Testing this Post to See What Works!

Here's the first test of what we're trying to get off the ground.
I did not have lunch today at:

www.mcdonalds.com

I did feel like flying down to Rio though where I might have taken a picture.  Instead I got stuck at the airport:

Bad Day at the Airport

Well - let's see how this thing looks.  I hope it has a great bullet list format:

  • But it looks pretty ordinary
  • I wonder if I can change them.
